About

BHX Recording Studio sits just outside Birmingham city centre, near the Jewellery Quarter, in a quiet, self-contained space, easy to reach, and at a safe distance from the city noise. Our aim was simple: build a studio people can rely on to get things done properly. Two purpose-built rooms - each doing its job ...

Equipment

Great gear, of course, doesn’t make the music, but it ensures no kit barriers stand in between you and your creative vision.

Amek Media 51

44-channel console with Rupert Neve Designs 3415 line amp across the mix bus.

Amek Media 51 is a gold-standard analogue desk known for its warmth and depth. Adds character and clarity you don’t get from purely digital setups.

Acoustic Design

A properly treated room means cleaner recordings, better clarity, and fewer problems in the final mix - so you’re not fixing the room instead of the music.

Workstations

Whether you prefer Logic Pro or Ableton, we have it covered - industry-standard recording and mixing software to suit your preferences.

Amplifiers

A selection of quality guitar and bass amps for clean tones, grit, or full-on drive—captured properly so your sound has weight and character from the start.

Drum kits + cymbals

Well-maintained acoustic kits, tuned for recording—tight, punchy, and balanced. Set up to suit the track, not just dropped in the room.

Microphones
A range of top-notch condenser and dynamic mics suited to different voices and instruments—so you’re not forcing your sound through the wrong setup.§

Studio Monitors
Accurate playback so you hear what’s really there—not a coloured version of it. If it sounds right here, it’ll sound right out there.

Outboard & Processing
Compression / EQ - used where it matters—to shape your sound properly at the source, not just fix things later.
